COMMERCIAL INCENTIVES:

With commercial systems, you can receive the following incentives as:

APS Up-Front Incentive: Commercial entities will receive a $2.50/DC STC watt rebate for thier system (up to 50% of the system cost) for systems below 30kW (or $75,000).


APS Performance Based Incentive (PBI): there is an option to receive this incentive over 10, 15 or 20 years and can total up to 60% of the system cost. In exchange for this utility rebate, you are selling APS the Renewable Energy Credits generated from your system. APS now has a ranking system for how to award projects this incentive. We can discuss the best strategy for applying for this incentive. However for the example shown, I am assuming the 15 year PBI, 15 year REC term and provides a good ranking for the incentive.

Another key item for applying for the PBI is the time periods in which APS approves these PBI incentives.
For systems under 100 kWac, funding is equally divided into six bi-monthly allocation periods. 
- January and February
- March and April
- May and June
- July and August
- September and October
- November and December
For systems larger than 100 kWac, funding is awarded on a competitive basis two times each year. Applications must be received by the nomination period deadlines of February 28 or August 31 respectively. (An PBI reservation would have to be submitted by one of these 2 dates for your 270kW project to be reserved this year with APS.)

Federal Tax Credit of 30% of the system cost (to be taken off of taxes owed) OR Federal Grant of 30% (received approx. 2 months after system completion)
- the 30% federal grant can be re-assigned to a 3rd party financial institution as well. Centrosolar and EnergyPro can make arrangements to take the 30% off the front cost of the system with the agreement to re-assign it so that the upfront cost of your project is lower.
