Solar Pool Pump

With your pool pump being the second largest electrical load (after HVAC), this is area that deserves serious consideration for ways to improve the efficiency of this pump. EnergyPro is designing a pool pump that uses a solar PV panels to power a DC motor for your pool pump. With this type of system, your solar panels can be direclty tied to the pump, therefore eliminateing the need for an invertor. The DC motor is very effecient when directly tied to the DC photovolatic power source, thereore, for most pols, the pump size can be cut in half. For example, if you are currently using a 1.5hp AC pump, you can cut this to a 3/4 hp DC solar pump. Great Potential that also qualifies for utility and tax credits!!
